Ursa Major's Longmont opening adds manufacturing space and a new test for its expansion plans

Ursa Major opened a Longmont manufacturing facility on August 20, 2026, adding space for avionics and in-space propulsion work while freeing capacity at its Berthoud headquarters. The company's announcement describes room for more than 125 employees, dedicated manufacturing and welding labs, and an environmental test lab. The division of work is the most concrete regional consequence. The company says placing these activities in Longmont creates additional room for hypersonics and solid rocket motor operations in Berthoud. Its account also identifies earlier manufacturing expansion completed in March. Together, those statements describe changes to where work can happen, without establishing how much additional finished output each site is already delivering.

A separate August 2026 investor presentation filed with the SEC puts the facility news inside a broader corporate growth effort. It describes a workforce of more than 360 and six facilities. Those companywide figures cannot be read as Longmont employment, and a facility's seating capacity cannot be added to existing employment as if the two measures counted different people.

The same presentation identifies dependence on customers, suppliers, successful testing and government funding among the risks to its plans. It also distinguishes financial forecasts from historical performance and says its projections were not audited. These qualifications make a straightforward reporting distinction possible: the opening is a reported event, while future revenue and production remain outcomes to be demonstrated.

For regional employers and suppliers, that distinction is more informative than an undifferentiated expansion total. A new facility establishes a location and an intended function. It does not by itself establish the timing of supplier orders, how many positions will be recruited locally or how quickly new space will become fully occupied.

The documents reviewed for this September 22 analysis therefore support a narrower but meaningful conclusion. Ursa Major has reported another Colorado manufacturing location and an allocation of work across it and Berthoud. Subsequent staffing disclosures, production updates and customer announcements would establish the next stage of that story. No conclusion about a security's value or the completion of any proposed financing follows from the facility opening.
